Kristian JENSEN

Kristian Jensen was born on 21 May 1971 in Middelfart, Denmark, to school teachers Jens Erik and Ellen Jensen.
While also active in the Liberal Party at youth level, he worked in a bank until 1998, when he was elected to the Parliament for the Ringkøbing County constituency. Here he served as MP until 2007, when he was elected MP for Western Jutland for the Liberal Party.
Within the party Kristian Jensen has held a number of positions. He has served as spokesperson for information technology and sports (1998-2001), as well as spokesperson for finance policy (2001-2004). From 2010 to 2015 he was the chairman of the Liberal Party’s parliamentary group. In 2009 he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Liberal Party, a position he still holds.
In the liberal/conservative coalition government (2001-2011) Kristian Jensen served as Minister for Taxation (2004-2010). Since the last general elections in June 2015, Kristian Jensen has served as Minister for Foreign Affairs in a Liberal Party minority government.
Kristian Jensen has published the book: “Hurra for globaliseringen” (Hurrah for Globalisation) (2003).
He is an active gymnastics coach, an avid runner and enjoys morning canoeing in the waters and canals around the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen.
Kristian Jensen is married and a father of three sons.
