Western military experts are impressed by how the Armed Forces of Ukraine fight a defensive war against the aggressor and admire Ukrainian warfighters’ heroism.

That was stated by Christian Freuding, Bundeswehr Brigadier General of the Army, at the 17th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting “Ukraine: Defending All Our Freedom”, organised by YES in partnership with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

“We are in awe at how you fight, how heroically you defend yourself. This will bring you even more advocates and allies,” said Christian Freuding.

The general emphasized that there is now full consensus in Germany that it is necessary to support Ukraine and step up efforts in this regard.

According to Wesley Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, NATO, the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated exceptional ingenuity both in defending Kyiv and in holding the frontline despite larger enemy forces.

“Everyone was impressed with adaptive Ukrainian defence against the scale of the Russian army. In particular, the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend Kyiv as well as the hold the frontline in Donbas,” emphasized Wesley Clark.
