Ukraine is fighting not only for its independence and its existence, but for the future of our entire civilization, noted Victor Pinchuk, founder and member of the Board of Yalta European Strategy. The 17th Annual Meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) «Ukraine: Defending All Our Freedom», organised by YES in partnership with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation was held in Kyiv between 9th and 10th September.
“This is not a war over territory – it is much more than that. This is a war in which the enemy wants to take everything from us – our sovereignty, our statehood, our life, our very existence. But this will not happen! In this war, Ukraine is fighting for independence and the future of our entire civilization,” Victor Pinchuk said.
The YES founder thanked Ukraine's Western partners for their support and assistance in the war, calling on forum participants to consolidate their efforts for the sake of the future of Ukraine and of the civilized world.
"We thank YES guests for coming to Ukraine. Meeting, and talking, with Ukrainian heroes – our soldiers, volunteers, doctors – is a very brave act. We have to take responsibility for shaping messages to be delivered to Washington, London, Paris - to major capitals of the world so that Moscow feels the full impact. We have to generate new ideas and we have to try to look into the future," said the YES founder.
Victor Pinchuk emphasized that Ukraine will win and restore its sovereignty within the borders recognized by the world.
“It is a great honor for me to help my country fight and defend itself. It is vital for our generation to defend our country,” he concluded.
