30 students and young leaders from every region of Ukraine will participate in Young Leaders Section at YES Brainstorming, a new format event organized by the Yalta European Strategy (YES) in partnership with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, which will take place on September 9-11, 2021 in Kyiv.
This year all participants of Young Leaders Section are alumni of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s scholarship program Zavtra.UA. The Young Leaders Section is a discussion platform for young people to share ideas, learn from international and local professionals and develop practical solutions to meet modern challenges.
The Young Leaders Section will be held in parallel with the discussions of YES Brainstorming. According to a hybrid format of the YES Brainstorming, key speakers and a select audience will attend the event in person in Kyiv, as well as join it online. Live broadcasting will be provided to a wider audience.
Since 2008, YES has annually invited the students and young professionals, including alumni of the Foundation’s scholarship programmes Zavtra.UA and WorldWideStudies, to participate in the Section in order to inspire Ukraine’s brightest and most active youth. The program of the section includes meetings of young leaders with the YES Brainstorming speakers and guests, reflecting on discussion panels of the plenary sessions. Overall, eight hundred of the best Ukrainian students and young leaders have participated in the Young Leaders Section at the YES Annual Meetings since its launch.
Speakers to young leaders at YES included prominent Ukrainian and international politicians, opinion-makers and civil society leaders, such as Tony Blair, Bono, Richard Branson, David Cameron, Valdis Dombrovskis, Niall Ferguson, Bill Ford, Robert Gates, Elton John, Tacan Ildem, John Kerry, Vitaliy Klitschko, Ray Kurzweil, David H. Petraeus, Condoleeza Rice, Karl Rove, Muhammad Yunus, Fareed Zakaria and others.
The YES Brainstorming event will be held at Mystetskiy Arsenal, Kyiv, Ukraine on Thursday 9th September – Saturday 11th September 2021. Due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic, YES has opted to hold this special event with only 50-70 participants present at the most sessions this year. The traditional YES Annual Meeting moved to 2022.←Back to news list
