Crimea turned from a resort into a military base reflects the essence of the Russian policy – Volodymyr Groysman

The transformation of Crimea into a powerful military base is a clear reflection of Russian policy, said Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman, at the 13th Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting (YES).

"Before the annexation, Ukrainian Crimea was a beautiful resort and after the annexation it has become a powerful military base – do you feel the difference? The difference is that Ukraine has never sought to be a threat, we want to unite and consolidate the whole world, but the only way to do this is to make aggressors abandon their plans. Today, every European country and NATO member should ask themselves the question, ‘who is next?’" he said.

The Prime Minister added that Ukraine aspires for peace, but achieving this will only become possible when Russia has stopped killing.

«Russia still has to become a modern nation. It still hasn’t made the fundamental decisions to determine whether it’s going to be a part of the international community or whether it’s going to try to be an imperial power and attack its neighbors, and take their land.»
