The people of Ukraine demand punishment for the aggressor - Andriy Kostin

People of Ukraine demand proper punishment for the Russian war criminals, said Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin at the 17th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting "Ukraine: Defending All Our Freedom", organised by YES in partnership with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

“The Ukrainian people will not allow us to lose cases at the International Criminal Court. We must proceed carefully and prepare these cases very well. We need to punish the aggressor. This is the will of each and every Ukrainian man and woman,” said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Ukrainian Melitopol, drew attention, for his part, to the need to punish Ukrainians who agreed to serve the enemy and betray their country.

“I truly believe the collaborators should be deprived of everything: all the support from our state, all the property, despite all schemes they may try to apply in order to avoid responsibility,” said the Mayor of Melitopol.

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin noted that the cases of collaborators who betrayed Ukraine are also top-priority.

“I look through the case files of collaborators and cannot understand the motives of these people. As a human being, I cannot put up with such behavior,” stated the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
