The Ukrainian citizens are working to build a free country despite the great threat to its territorial integrity, Bill Clinton, 42nd president of the United States, said in a video address to the delegates of the 12th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting today in Kyiv.
Clinton, who has attended the YES Annual Meeting in previous years, assured the audience of more than 350 Ukrainian and international delegates of the West’s support. “Despite the great threat to Ukraine's territorial integrity, Ukrainians are working hard to create a free and prosperous country ruled by law,” he said.
Clinton stressed that this year's YES Annual Meeting was crucial than ever before the light of the current events in Ukraine: “We will rise and fall together, therefore I would like us to appreciate the forces of integration and disintegration.”
Clinton wished a peaceful future to the Ukrainians, and a productive session to the YES delegates.
The 12th Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting will be streamed live at yes-ukraine.org as well as web-sites of the Media Partners in English and Ukrainian.
