The Crisis in Ukraine is Global, and its Solution Cannot be Put on the Back Burner – Victor Pinchuk

“The crisis in Ukraine is global and its solution should be a priority among global leaders’ objectives,” said Victor Pinchuk in his welcome note at the 13th Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting (YES).

“We are in the middle of the storm now. Some people in the West probably want to focus on addressing their own global crises, and they want to withdraw Ukraine from their shortlist of priorities. This is not right. It is not a local, but a global crisis in Ukraine. Ukraine has to be, if not on the top of the list of the global crises, at least in the middle of this shortlist”, he said.

Victor Pinchuk stressed that it is only with a joint effort that the ‘global storm’ may be overcome.

“Now we are in the epicenter of a global storm and there are only two ways out: either we will have a global chaos or we achieve a new order. We want to motivate you to work hard so that we can achieve the more positive scenario. There will be a chance to overcome this global crisis only if we hold together,” he concluded.
